What resort content production costs in the Maldives (2026)

Resorts ask us this before anything else, so here are the real figures: what a production trip covers, how the price moves with scope, what a monthly retainer includes, and what to ask any agency before you sign.

The short answer

A full resort content production trip in the Maldives, covering eight to ten areas of the property with 10 to 12 edited reels, short cutdowns and a stills library of around 10 edited pictures per area, costs in the region of USD 3,500 to 4,500 with JOGO Media. Monthly social media retainers that include an on-property shoot every month start from around USD 2,000 a month. Crew transfers and stay on the island are arranged by the resort.

What a production trip includes

  • One crew visit covering the areas you list: bars, restaurants, arrival, villas, wellness, activities, nightlife.
  • 10 to 12 reels, plus 10 to 15 second cutdowns for stories and paid placements.
  • Stills library: a minimum of 10 edited pictures per area.
  • Drone aerials and underwater wherever they lift the story.
  • Post-production styled to your moodboards and colour themes, with two revision rounds on every output.
  • Delivery in two phases: a priority batch within one week of wrap, the complete library within two weeks.
  • Everything through the JOGO client portal: preview, approve and download in every format you need.

How the figure moves

The base covers the wishlist you send us. Beyond that, extra reels and extra edited pictures are priced per unit, so a resort that wants 60 pictures of its bars instead of 10 can see exactly what that adds before confirming. Multi-property or multi-island trips, models and talent, and festive-period setups such as a staged party night are quoted separately.

Monthly retainers

For resorts and guesthouses that want an always-on feed: a monthly on-property shoot, 16 to 20 posts a month across Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, reels and stories cut from each shoot, design support for menus, offers and print, and a monthly performance report. Everything is planned and approved in the client portal. Retainers start from around USD 2,000 a month on a minimum three-month term.

What is not included

Transfers, accommodation and meals for the crew (arranged by the resort), models and talent fees, paid ad spend, and usage licences for third-party music. We flag any of these before they arise.

What to ask any agency before you sign

  • Do they shoot on property, or rely on stock and repurposed content?
  • Is it one team, or a chain of freelancers with hand-offs between them?
  • How do you approve and receive files, and how fast?
  • What is the revision policy on each output?
  • Who owns the delivered content and the raw footage?

We wrote a longer version of this checklist on our creative agency for luxury resorts page.

Questions resorts ask

How long does a resort content shoot take?

Most full-property shoots run three to five days on the island depending on the number of areas, sunrise and sunset windows, and any staged setups such as a party or a welcome ceremony. The priority batch of edits is delivered within a week of wrap and the full library within two weeks.

Do you travel to any atoll?

Yes. JOGO is based in Malé and produces on resorts and islands across the Maldives. The resort arranges crew transfers, accommodation and meals; everything else is included in the figure.

Can we choose which areas are delivered first?

Yes. Resorts mark up to four priority areas and those form the first delivery batch within one week of the shoot. The rest follows within two weeks.

Who owns the content?

The resort owns the delivered content for its own marketing across all channels. JOGO keeps the right to show the work in its portfolio unless the resort asks otherwise.

Can we start with a smaller scope?

Yes. A production trip can cover a handful of areas rather than the whole property, and a monthly retainer can start with a single outlet or brand. The figure scales with the number of reels and pictures.
